The New York Times’ DealBook recently disclosed a letter indicating Neumann’s ongoing discussions with WeWork regarding potential buyback options, asset acquisition, or financial assistance since December.

The missive was authored by Alex Spiro, a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, renowned for his collaboration with Musk during the latter’s acquisition of Twitter in 2022, which is now rebranded as X.

Spiro’s involvement with Neumann commenced at the end of 2023, as per Bloomberg Law, drawing from insights provided by informed sources. Following Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, Spiro played a pivotal role in subsequent proceedings, including participation in deliberations concerning employee layoffs.

Moreover, Spiro boasts an extensive legal portfolio, having represented Musk in numerous high-profile cases, notably including a 2018 defamation lawsuit brought forth by Vernon Unsworth. Beyond legal matters, Spiro’s rapport with Musk has been characterized by a shared sense of humor, as observed by Jeanine Zalduendo, an attorney who has collaborated with both individuals.
